You'll know you've arrived when you see the neon sign glowing above the entrance of a narrow alley. The moment those doors swing open, the warm embrace of hospitality sets the tone for a memorable evening. The staff, always with a friendly nod and a genuine smile, guide patrons through the labyrinth of tables closely packed with folks eager to dig into plates heaped with savory goodness. Repeat visitors will often suggest kicking things off with their famous brisket, which is as tantalizing as a first bite gets.

The menu at Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous reads like an odyssey through barbecue ingenuity—grilled and smoked to perfection. It's not just about the ribs, though they undeniably steal the show with their robust, spicy rub and that perfect balance of tender meat falling off the bones. Try the pulled pork shoulder, undeniably a crowd favorite, or sample some of the lesser-known but equally delectable offerings like the smoked sausage and traditional sides. Location-wise, the joint is hard to beat. Positioned just a stone's throw from the vibrant Mississippi River and Beale Street's iconic blues trail, it provides an ideal starting point for an evening in one of America's legendary music cities. This family-run hole-in-the-wall is an absolute gem. The whole place is filled with mouthwatering smells, and the dining area has historic speakeasy vibes. The ribs I ordered were amazing—smoky, delicious, generous portion. But above all, the hospitality was incredibly warm and genuine. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

This place was recommended for their dry rub bbq. I had ribs and pork shoulder. My coworker had ribs and brisket. It was pretty tasty. Their coleslaw is different but good. If you want ribs shipped ro you, they do that. Service was friendly and good.

Food is top notch! First time in Memphis, I been wanting to try Memphis BBQ. It did not disappointment! I’m from Texas, so i know great BBQ, and I really enjoyed the sweetness in the barbecue sauce and seasoning on the food! I highly recommend this place and look forward to coming back!

Friendly, fast, absolutely delicious. I have never been to a bbq restaurant this good and CHEAP. Beer was fantastic, the ribs, brisket, pork shoulder, the bbq sauce and whatever vinegar bbq sauce they use. ALL of it has left me in a state of euphoria and I’m so happy i came here during my visit to Memphis. God bless this restaurant with 100+ more years of service and perfection

This place had unbelievable bbq sauce and seasoning! Being from California, all I've ever had is store bought Memphis style bbq sauce and seasoning; but this place was magnificent. Some of the best bbq I've ever had! The server recommended the bbq ribs with dry rub; and he said to try without bbq sauce since the seasoning was good enough without the sauce. He did not lie, the dry rub was out of this world. I regret not buying the seasoning they had in the front of the restaurant.

Just had the takeout. One word: epic. We tried brisket, small order (ha! Not small at all) of ribs, and a cheese and sausage platter. It was awesome, and we finished maybe 1/3 of it, portions are huge. I loved the beans! Somehow, I think I ate more of the combination of sausage and beans than the ribs. Well, with all of the leftovers, bbq for breakfast upcoming. Bonus points: the gluten free options are marked in the menu!

Walked in about at 615, was greeted and seated immediately. We had the sweetest server who's name I unfortunately did not grab. He brought our drinks out to the table and from it only took about 8 mins after we placed our order for our food to come out. We spent a total of 30 mins in the restaurant. As we got ready to leave, we were stuffed to the brim on true Memphis dry-rubbed, coal grilled pork ribs and beef brisket. This is a staple BBQ joint in Memphis with lots of history embedded throughout. The atmosphere is perfect for any occasion. They also serve alcoholic beverages and desserts.
